In addition to bilateral country programmes, New Zealand provides regionally focussed assistance to the Pacific in the areas of education, health, environment, governance, fisheries, and trade and economic projects.
Total expenditure on regional programmes in the Pacific for 2006/07 is $50.7 million. NZAID also funds a number of regional agencies and organisations such as the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and UNICEF Pacific.
